This is (or at least I believe to be) the exact same stuff as Spaz Juice in a Family Guy can instead of a Happy Bunny can.  Can’t find anything online to verify, and I pitched the can before I got the website off of the back….I know, bad, bad, baaaad.  Anyway, here’s a pic of the can……pretty much all that’s really redeeming about it (If you are a Family Guy fan anyway.)  If you want to know what it tastes like, just read my review of Spaz Juice.

Mega Energy Mojito Energy drink

First off, I think it should be know that I am a big fan of Energy pouchesandmojitos….I love them.  There are not many things better on a hot Texas day than a nice homemade mojito….Refreshing, cold, and alcoholic.  That being said, my review here may be a bit biased.  I have found that there are very few places that actually make a GOOD mojito…mostly they consist of a bit of Bacardi Limon in a mojito syrup…might taste ok, but nowhere near as good as a hand made drink..  Now that I have that out of the way, I can honestly say that this is a good attempt.  The Mega Energy Mojito has a nice mild lime taste combined with a decent bit of mint….something that you pretty much NEVER find in a mass produced drink.  The flavor is not overly sweet, and the mint, lime and sugar all complement each other fairly nicely…the problem lies in the aftertaste.  There is a bit of an unnatural slightly bitter chemical flavor to this drink.  You really notice it with your first couple of drinks, and it slowly hides away after you become used to it.  Initially it really seems to overpower the other flavors in the drink, but s I said, you kind of get used to it so you stop noticing it….until the drink starts to warm up that is.  After it starts loosing its cool, that weird flavor pops back into the picture.  While it’s never overly offensive, it is just not something you want…..if it was gone, this drink would be sooooo much better….still, I have to give Mega credit for actually making a mojito flavored energy drink….

Power wise, this is nothing to write home about.  It’s not really weak, but not anything new either….about what the standard drinks this size will do for you in terms of waking your ass up.  For the average person it would probably do a decent job of pepping you up, but for those of us who know their stuff, there are many more items on the market that would do a better job…still, it’s nice to have drinks like this for those times that you just need a slight pick me up.  Over all, I’d take another Mega Mojito….while not my favorite energy drink out there, it’s TOTALLY different than anything else on the market, and change can be very good.  Give it a shot…definitely worth one try if for no other reason than to expand your range of flavor preferences.

Now, for those of you out there who are curious, the BEST recipe for mojitos is as follows:

Crush mint leaves in the bottom of the glass

Squeeze lime over crushed mint leaves

Add crushed ice

Add Bacardi, and simple syrup

Fill glass with club soda, lightly stir.
