Jackpot Mania’s US$1.00 progressive slot Rags to Riches has been won again, three days after breaking the world record for the largest online progressive jackpot. Progressive games offer fast-growing bonus jackpots that increase as more people play.

Rags to Riches was able to climb so quickly because it carries a US$100,000 reset value, meaning there is never less than US$100,000 ready to be won.

This time ‘stash,’ a player at InterCasino, a WagerLogic licensee powered by CryptoLogic software, won US$111,820.80 on September 8, 2001. InterCasino is among the oldest, largest and most trusted casinos on the Internet.

“It’s still hard to understand the magnitude of winning one hundred thousand dollars. I’m in shock nearly two days later! I don’t have any concrete plans, except to treat myself,” says ‘stash.’

On September 5, 2001, the world record for the largest online progressive jackpot was broken when Rags to Riches was hit for US$414,119 by ‘BOBO’, a player at The Sands of the Caribbean® Online Casino, also a WagerLogic licensee. ‘BOBO’ watched in amazement as his machine counted off at $600 per minute for almost 12 hours after his historic win.

Where jackpots on the Internet once only totaled in the hundreds and low thousands of dollars, the win at InterCasino is more proof that the latest generation of online super jackpots is causing the gaming world to take notice, and making believers out a growing list of winners.

“InterCasino is pleased to again award the largest online Situs Judi Online jackpots in the world,” says Ryan Hartley, Casino Manager of InterCasino. “We pay out thousands of dollars in prizes daily, and each time a super jackpot like this is won, it shows the online gaming community that InterCasino is the best bet for big prizes, fair odds, quick payouts, and of course, secure gaming.”

Jackpot Mania links progressive jackpots from Internet casinos around the globe and is the world-leading provider of high-paying online games. JackpotMania.com runs real-time tallies displaying each growing jackpot as games are played simultaneously across these online casinos.

It features six games, including Caribbean Poker, Triple Olives $0.25/$1.00 slots, Rags to Riches $1.00 slot and Super Jackpot $0.25/$1.00 video poker. InterCasino (www.intercasino.com) is one of 16 casinos connected by Jackpot Mania. Both Caribbean Poker and the $1.00 slot “Rags to Riches” offer US$100,000 default values. Caribbean Poker is currently worth over US$236,000.

The two Rags to Riches wins are just the latest high-stake jackpots awarded by Jackpot Mania. Recent large wins include prizes of US$235,000, US$138,000 and US$176,000 — with thousands of dollars in smaller prizes won daily.…

Soccer – Veteran Friedel opts to call it a day

Brad Friedel has admitted that, at the age of almost 44, it is the right time for him to retire from the game. The former USA international has featured in almost 500 Premier League matches since joining Liverpool in 1997. He was Blackburn’s regular first-choice shot-stopper between 2000 and 2008 and went on to start more than 100 league games for Aston Villa before moving to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2011. He was an ever-present for Spurs in the 2011/12 campaign but has been used as a back-up keeper to Hugo Lloris for the last three seasons. “I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved in my career,” said Friedel. “But my 44th birthday is almost here so I think it is a good time to call it a day.” Spurs are 13/8 with bet365 to keep a clean sheet on Saturday against a Hull City side that is 2/5 to be relegated this season following their home defeat to Burnley.

Soccer – Baines endures ankle surgery

Everton boss Roberto Martinez believes this week was the perfect time for Leighton Baines to have an ankle operation. The former Wigan Athletic left-back has been struggling with the injury for some time and had to be substituted during Saturday’s 2-0 home loss to Sunderland, 4/1 with bet365 to be relegated this season. Baines had the surgery on Wednesday but should have recovered in time for the start of pre-season training. Martinez said: “Leighton had a little bit of instability in his ankle that flared up in the last two weeks and was really painful in the last game, so we got it checked and he needed a little bit of repair work so he had surgery. “He will be out now until the start of pre-season but it is exactly what he needed. He was trying to play through the pain barrier.” Everton are 8/5 to beat West Ham in their penultimate game of the season on Saturday.
