Education
The Muslim Parliament’s Tutorial School Programme is a nation-wide
campaign launched to encourage the community to set up local supplementary
classes. It is clear from national statistics that Muslim children
do far worse in school than any other community. A large proportion
of Muslim children leave school at the age of 16 with no meaningful
qualifications. To counter this supplementary classes must be set
up to enhance basic national curriculum subjects eg. Maths, English
& Science skills. These classes can also serve to provide wider
support services to pupils eg. teachers providing career/university
advice, provision of Islamic education and also providing support
to parents in their contribution to their children’s education.
